Irene
Edith O'Connor, 85, 820 South EddyStreet, died at 10:45 AM Wednesday at
the Medicalodge. She was born Sept. 12, 1897 at Fort Scott, the
daughter of James Fred and Caroline Hamlin O'Connor. She taught
for many years in the Fort Scott schools and retired from the high
school in 1963. Miss O'Connor was a member of Mary Queen of
Angels Catholic Church and the National Retired Teachers
Association.
Survivors include a niece and a
sister-in-law.
Services will be at Mary Queen of
Angels Catholic Church with the Rev. Leo Kerschen
officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's
Cemetery.
To her, we owe a debt of gratitude for teaching us to diagram a
sentence and to understand grammar.
